"What is wrong with these people who whenever others complain about rising prices of goods respond with; "look at prices the world over don't just blame Uhuru for everything."
Why would flour be costing KShs 200 per 2kg packet in this country? Why are maize milling firms closing due to lack of of maize?
If we invested 10% of the KShs 7 Trillion we borrowed in irrigation, today we would be exporting maize and wheat. Our shilling would be strengthening due to export earnings.
As for fuel prices, we have Turkana oil currently valued at KShs 8.2 Trillion. The planned production of 120,000 barrels per day would be earning us KShs 1.7 Billion daily. Our shilling wouldn't be depreciating the way it is doing and causing imported inflation. Why haven't we exploited this resource?
If we did not borrow so much so fast, we wouldn't need to tax our people to death in order to meet the budget requirements. It is sickening that people cannot see the link between the high prices they are paying and the ballooning public debt.
Uhuru is to be blamed for the high price of goods. It is foolish to make excuses for politicians when you are suffering because of their failures. It is indeed the silly season of politics but it doesn't have to be this silly."
